This stainless steel cylinder starts inside the dancer's thigh and sticks out of the bottom of the dancer's foot to anchor the piece to the granite base. The welded-on fins facilitate centering in the hole at the top of the granite base. Kasman's signature, the year and the NESS foundry stamp are visible on the bronze foot.
